SEMICOLONS ; الفاصلة المنقوطة Semicolons are used to separate clauses or phrases that are related and that receive equal emphasis تستخدم الفاصلة المنقوطة لكى تفصل الجمل أو العبارات ( أشباه الجمل ) التى تكون على نفس الدرجة من الأهمية أو التأكيد . Semicolons join independent clauses in a compound sentence if no coordinating conjunction is used. تربط الفاصلة المنقوطة الجمل الرئيسية فى الجمل المركبة إن لم يستخدم رابط من روابط الجمل المركبة EXAMPLE: Michael seemed preoccupied; he answered our questions abruptly.
