Difference between Vision and Goals: General Direction versus Specific Objectives.

Vision is the big picture and overall direction that a company, organization, or individual is striving towards in the future, meaning it represents the desired state that the organization or person is moving towards. The vision can be described as the end result that the founders or creators want to achieve in the future, and it is the ultimate goal that the individual or organization is striving towards.

On the other hand, goals are specific objectives that an individual or organization wants to achieve within a specific timeframe. While vision focuses on long-term thinking, goals focus on the short- and medium-term timeframe.

Here are some examples if you are running a company:

- Vision: To be the leading provider of the best training and professional development services in the region.

- Goal: Increase the number of monthly trainees by 20% in the third quarter of this year.

- Goal: Provide more free training courses for employees in the company this year.

Individuals may also have a vision and goals:

- Vision: To become a famous actor on stage.

- Goal: Get a leading role in a theatrical production next year.

- Goal: Train on the basic acting skills and get a certificate in theater this year.

In general, the vision provides an outlook towards the future for the individual or organization, while the goal is the specific objectives that the individual or organization wants to achieve within a specific timeframe.
